Today I’m going to review Red Heart Super Saver Yarn. This yarn is 100% acrylic and comes in a variety of solid colors as well as variegated colors. This is one of the first yarn brands I have worked with when starting out as a beginner. This yarn is classified as a 4-worsted weight yarn. For the crocheters, the recommended hook size is a size I-9 and for the knitters a size US 8.

Like I mentioned, this brand comes in a variety of different solid and variegated colors, so you have lots of options to choose from when working on your project. You have everything from neutral and cooler colors to bright and neon colors. That is probably one of my favorite things about this brand—the many color options available. I believe the Red Heart Super Saver line just came out with some new colors not too long ago.

However, there is one thing about this yarn to watch out for. I have found Red Heart Super Saver Yarn to have a tendency to be a little scratchy. Some of the colors are just fine and I find them to be soft. There are those few, however, that tend to be a little scratchier than others. I mostly noticed this with the coffee brown and black colors for whatever reason. If you are making a project with this yarn, keep in mind the receipt as they may have sensitive skin and this yarn may irritate it. Please keep in mind that this yarn is machine washable, so it will get baby soft once it’s washed. Check out this video where you can learn how to wash Red Heart Super Saver yarn.

I have used this yarn for a variety of different projects such as blankets, scarves, hats, and home décor. I would recommend this yarn brand to others. What is great about Red Heart Super Saver Yarn is that you can find it at your local Walmart in addition to the big box craft stores such as Michaels or Joann Fabrics. You can even purchase some of the colors on Amazon.
