Today I’m sharing my watermelon coaster pattern with everyone. This fun, beginner-friendly pattern is perfect for summer! The watermelon coaster pattern will help you learn how to crochet in the round using the half double crochet and single crochet stitches. Follow along with my step-by-step instructions and soon you will have you very own set of watermelon coasters!

WATERMELON COASTER PATTERN
Materials:
- G-6 crochet hook
- 1 skein each of Bright Pink, White, and Lime Green Cotton Yarn
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Pattern (make 4):
Begin with the Bright Pink color. Do not turn after each row.
RND 1: Start with a magic circle. Ch 1, work 12 hdc in circle. Join with a sl st to top of first hdc , ch 1 (12 hdc)
RND 2: Work 2 hdc in 1st stitch and in each stitch around, ch 1 (24 hdc)
RND 3: Work 2 hdc in 1st stitch, *1 hdc in next stitch. Work 2 hdc in next stitch. Repeat from * all the way around. Fasten off pink yarn and join with white yarn. Ch 1 (36 hdc)
RND 4: Work 2 sc in 1st stitch, *1 sc in next 2 stitches. Work 2 sc in next stitch. Repeat from * all the way around. Fasten off white yarn and join with lime green yarn. Ch 1 (48 sc)
RND 5: Sc in each stitch around (48 sc)
To Finish: Leave at least 6 inches for your tail. Cut yarn. Yarn over your hook and pull through the last stitch of your row and tighten. To weave in all yarn ends, thread your yarn in your tapestry needle and go in between the stitches one way and back the other way. This will help keep your project from coming apart.
You now have your very own set of watermelon coasters! These make great gifts for family members, friends, or even yourself. These would be perfect for setting a nice cold glass of lemonade on. Not only do they work up quickly, they’re adorable!
