Waffle Stitch Hot Pad

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my newest crochet pattern, the Waffle Stitch Hot Pad. To make this hot pad, you will crochet two panels and sew them together to make them extra thick. The texture on them is just wonderful!

The Waffle Stitch Hot Pad is made using 100% cotton yarn in two different colors. However, this cotton hot pad would be pretty in just about every color combination out there. The possibilities are truly endless!

For the Waffle Stitch Hot Pad, I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton. However, you can use whatever cotton yarn you’d like. I also used a size H-8 (5.0mm) crochet hook. I highly recommend using my favorite crochet hooks, Clover Amour. You will also need a tapestry needle and a pair of scissors. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Materials:

Size:

8″ x 8″

Notes:

  • The Waffle Stitch is worked in a multiple of 3+2. That means you will make a chain in a multiple of 3 (3,6,9,etc) until your desired width. Once satisfied, you will add 2 chains to the very end.
  • To get a straight edge, be sure to end on a row 2 row.

If you would like to purchase an ad-free version of this pattern, you can do so here.
