Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet pattern, the Valentine Scarf. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I wanted to make a fun little project. It’s wintertime in the Midwest, so I thought this scarf would be perfect to stay warm in. The Valentine Scarf is made up of three different colors, but you can change up the colors to fit your needs. This scarf is a one-row repeat pattern, making it beginner friendly.

For the Valentine Scarf, I used #4 worsted weight yarn in pink, soft pink, and white. I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn, however, you can use any yarn you’d like. I also used a size J-10 (6.0 mm) crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Valentine Scarf

Materials:

• 1 skein each of Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Pink, Soft Pink, and White
• J-10 (6.0 mm) crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Size:

7 wide x 90 long

Notes:

• To change the width of this scarf, you will need to make a chain that’s a multiple of 4 plus 2. This means you will chain in a multiple of 4. Once satisfied with your width, you will add 2 chains to the very end.
• I changed colors after every 6 rows.
• Rows 1 and 2 are the base rows. You will repeat Row 3 for your pattern.
• The chain 2 at the beginning of each row counts as a double crochet.

With Pink, CH 26

Row 1: Starting in the 6th CH from your hook, make 3 DC, *CH 1, skip 3 CH, 3 DC in next CH. Repeat from * until you reach the end of your row. Make 2 DC in final CH. CH 2 (counts as a DC) and turn.

Row 2: Working in the CH-1 space, DC around CH-1 space, TR in the middle CH from previous row, DC around CH-1 space, *CH 1, DC around CH-1 space, TR in the middle CH from previous row, DC around CH-1 space. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Work 2 DC in the space between the last 3 DC and the turning CH. CH 2 and turn.

Row 3: Working in the CH-1 space, *DC, TR in the middle stitch of 3 DC one row below, DC, CH 1. Repeat from * until the end of the row. Make 2 DC in the space between the last stitches and turning CH. CH 2 and turn.

Repeat Row 3 for the pattern. Your color changes will be as follows:

Pink, Soft Pink,White (6 rows of each color)

Repeat this sequence 10x, then add 5 rows of Pink, so your scarf starts and ends with the same color. You should have a total of 185 rows before the finishing row.

Finishing Row:

CH 2, *DC in CH-1 space, TR in the middle stitch of 3 DC one row below, DC, DC in next TR. Repeat until the end of the row. Make 2 DC in the space between the last DC and turning CH. Fasten off and weave in your ends.
