Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my newest crochet pattern, the Sweetheart Baby Blanket. This super soft, handmade baby blanket is made using beginner stitches with a cute mini shell border. It is the perfect baby afghan for a newborn baby and would also be an excellent baby shower gift that would be treasured for years to come.
For the Sweetheart Baby Blanket, I used Premier Anti-Pilling DK. However, you can use whatever #3 light-weight yarn you’d like. I also used a size H-8 (5.0mm) crochet hook. I highly recommend using my favorite crochet hooks, Clover Amour. You will also need a tapestry needle and a pair of scissors. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!
Sweetheart Baby Blanket
Materials:
- (2) skeins each of Premier Anti-Pilling DK in Carnation, Baby Pink, and White
- H-8 (5.0mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Size:
36×36
Notes:
- This blanket is worked in a multiple of 4 plus 1 plus 1. This means you will multiply any number by 4 to get your desired width. Once satisfied, you will add 1 chain and 1 additional chain to the very end.
- Chain 1 does not count as a stitch.
- Chain 3 counts as a double crochet.
- The shell stitch consists of 3 double crochets.
- You will change colors every 4 rows.
