Striped Shell Baby Blanket

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet pattern, the Striped Shell Baby Blanket. One of my favorite crochet stitches to make is the shell stitch. I was looking around in my yarn stash and wanted to put some different colors together. This is where the idea for this blanket came about. This is a great little blanket to welcome baby!

For the Striped Shell Baby Blanket, I used Caron Simply Soft yarn, which is a worsted weight #4 yarn. However, you can use any worsted weight yarn you’d like. I also used a size H-8 (5.0mm) crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Materials:

  • Caron Simply Soft yarn (worsted weight yarn; 315 yards per skein)

Size:

31×51

Notes:

  • This blanket is worked in a multiple of 6 plus 1. This means you will multiple any number by 6 to get your desired width. Once satisfied, you will add 1 chain to the very end to keep everything in balance.
  • Each color is worked in 6 rows. The middle is worked in 30 rows. Please see color sequence below.
