Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest Crochet 101 Tutorial, the Simple Ripple Stitch. The Simple Ripple Stitch is an easy one row repeat pattern that would be great for blankets and scarves! You can use a solid color or change up the colors however you’d like. Whether you are a beginner crocheter or a more seasoned crocheter, the Simple Ripple Stitch will help get you familiar with how to make a chevron.

The yarn I used was Caron Simply Soft. Experiment with different yarns to see which you prefer. I also used a size H-8 (5.00mm) crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Simple Ripple Stitch

Materials:

• Any yarn you desire
• Coordinating hook size recommend on the yarn label

Note:

• The Simple Ripple Stitch is worked in a multiple of 10+2. This means you will make your chain in any multiple of 10 and add 2 more chains to the very end. Example swatch: 10×3=30, add 2=32

CH 32

ROW 1: Skip first 2 CHS (counts as first DC), DC in each of the next 4 CH, *skip 2 CH, DC in each of the next 4 CH, CH 2, DC in each of the next 4 CH. Repeat from * until you have 6 CHS remaining. Skip 2 CH, DC in each of the next 3 CH, 2 DC in last CH, turn.

ROW 2: CH 3 (counts as first DC), DC in same beginning stitch, DC in each of the next 3 stitches, *skip 2 stitches, DC in next 3 stitches, (DC, CH 2, DC) all into that CH-2 space, DC in next 3 stitches. Repeat from * until you have 6 stitches remaining. Skip 2 stitches, DC in next 3 stitches, 2 DC in top of turning CH, turn.

Repeat ROW 2 for pattern.
