Scuba Corner to Corner Baby Blanket

Today I’m sharing my newest blanket pattern, the Scuba Corner to Corner Baby Blanket. This blanket can be easily adjusted to be bigger or smaller. You can also use any color yarn you wish to complete this baby blanket.

This is a beginner-friendly pattern, but you do need to know the basics of crochet in order to make this pattern. Check out my tutorials of the different stitches needed for this blanket:

Let’s continue onto the pattern!

MATERIALS:

FINISHED SIZE:

30×30

NOTE:

Corner to corner crochet (c2c) is a technique that works just as it sounds–you crochet little “boxes” at a diagonal, increasing each row by one box until your project is tall and wide enough, at which point you start decreasing each row.

If you would like to purchase the ad-free pattern, you can do so here.

How to Corner to Corner Crochet Decrease

Step 1: Instead of chaining 3 as you usually would, SL ST in each DC
Step 2: SL ST into CH-3 turning CH
Step 3: CH 3
Step 4: 3 DC in CH-3 turning CH of previous row.

When you’ve reached the end of your blanket, do not fasten off. Continue to the border.

BORDER:

Round 1: CH 2 (do not turn). *DC in the top of each DC. When you get to the CH-3 space, you will make 3 DC inside that space. Repeat from * all the way around. Be sure to make 3 DC in each corner. Skip the CH 2 from the beginning and SL ST to the top of 1st DC. CH 2, but do not turn.

Round 2: *FPDC around 1st DC, BPDC around next DC. Repeat from * around entire blanket, alternating FPDC and BPDC. SL ST around 1st FPDC made. CH 2, but do not turn.

Round 3: FPDC around the FPDC from previous row, BPDC around the BPDC from previous row. Repeat all the way around your blanket. SL ST around the beginning FPDC. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

I hope you enjoyed my Scuba Corner to Corner Baby Blanket pattern. The c2c technique might take a little bit to get used to, but once you do, you will enjoy the process just as much as I did.
