Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet pattern, the Moss Stitch Dishcloth. These dishcloths work up quickly, making them a beginner-friendly pattern. You will use two basic stitches to create this dishcloth. Crochet a few of these for gift giving, craft fairs, or even use them in your own kitchen! They’re not only beautiful with the fun textured design, but they’re also practical and useful around the kitchen.

The Moss Stitch Dishcloth is made using Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton. However, you can use any cotton yarn you have in your yarn stash. I also used a size H-8 (5mm) crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!
MOSS STITCH DISHCLOTH
MATERIALS:
- H-8 (5mm) crochet hook
- 1 skein of 100% cotton yarn (I used Lion Brand 24/7 cotton)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
SIZE:
8×8
NOTES:
- To adjust the size of your dishcloth, you will need to make your chain in any even number. You can also increase the length of your dishcloth by making more rows.
- You will start and end each row with a slip stitch.
- Work your slip stitches loosely, especially at the beginning and end of each row to keep your dishcloth from cinching at the ends.

Chain 32
Row 1: SL ST in 2nd CH from hook, *HDC in next CH, SL ST in next CH. Repeat from * until the end of your row. CH 1 and turn.
Row 2: SL in 1st stitch, *HDC in next stitch, SL ST in next stitch. Repeat from * until the end of your row. CH 1 and turn.
Rows 3-36: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off and weave in your ends.
