Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet pattern, the Moss Stitch Dish Towel. I wanted to create a series of kitchen accessories using the same stitch, so I decided to come out with this towel pattern. In previous posts, you’ll find my Moss Stitch Hot Pad and Moss Stitch Dishcloth, to complete this set.
This towel works up quickly, making it a beginner-friendly pattern. You will use two basic stitches to create this crochet towel. Crochet a few of these for gift giving, craft fairs, or even use them in your own kitchen! They’re not only beautiful with the fun textured design, but they’re also practical and useful around the kitchen.
The Moss Stitch Dish Towel is made using Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton yarn. However, you can use any cotton yarn you have in your yarn stash. I also used a size H-8 (5mm) crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!
MOSS STITCH DISH TOWEL
MATERIALS:
- (2) skeins of 100% cotton yarn (I used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton 186yds/170m or 3.5oz/100g)
- H-8 (5mm) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
SIZE:
12×20
NOTES:
- To change the width of this towel, you will chain an even number of chains.
- You will alternate between a slip stitch and a half double crochet to get the textured look.
- Work slip stitches loosely especially the first and last one of each row to ensure your piece doesn’t cinch at the ends.
