May Crafty Goals Recap (2020)

In January, I shared my 2020 crafty goals with you. If you missed it, you can check it out here. I decided that I’m going to do a monthly recap of my crafty goals both to keep me on track, but also share my progress with you. Here is my May crafty goals recap.

Like I mentioned, I wanted to do a little recap of my monthly crafty goals to help keep me on track. I have so much going on, so I thought it would be easier to break down my goals by month so it wouldn’t seem so overwhelming. I also realized I set other crafty goals for myself that I didn’t initially include in my 2020 crafty goals, so I will include them in these monthly recaps instead.

MAY CRAFTY GOALS RECAP

Design More Crochet Patterns

This month, I designed three crochet patterns. I had some leftover rainbow yarn from my Rainbow Dreams Baby Blanket, so I knew I wanted to make another blanket using that yarn. In the end, I decided to go with a granny stripe design as that’s one of my favorite stitches. I ended up calling the blanket the Candy Stripes Blanket as it turned out so bright and colorful.

The next pattern I was looking around Pinterest for some ideas when I stumbled across a beautiful textured blanket. Little did I know the stitch was called the moss stitch, so I pulled out some Red Heart Soft Yarn and the Moss Baby Blanket was born!

The final blanket I made was a variation on the shell stitch called the slanted shell stitch. I’ve been meaning to make this blanket for a long time, but never got around to it. One day I decided I was finally going to make it and looked through my stash to see what I have. I’m trying to use up what yarn I have now, so I found some colors that would match perfectly. I love how the Slanted Shell Blanket turned out!

Make at Least 10 YouTube Videos

I’m still relatively new when it comes to making YouTube videos. However, I really want to make it more of a point to make more videos consistently and share my crochet tutorials and patterns through video format. That’s why I made it a goal to make at least 10 video this year.

Since being in quarantine, it’s really allowed me to have more time to make videos and post them on my YouTube channel. I do feel like I’ve become more consistent with posting videos, so I’m hoping that I can continue this pattern when I go back to work this week. Looking at my channel, I’ve made a total of 11 videos this year. I have officially completed my goal!! I’m having a lot of fun with my YouTube channel! If you have any video ideas you would like me to make, please leave me a comment below. I’d love to hear from you!

Etsy Collections

I’m still working on adding different collections to my Etsy Shop. For the month of May, I added a few Rainbow Blankets. I hope to add a few more rainbow blankets to my shop once I get some more yarn. I also need to go back and add some blankets to my Modern Gray Collection as some items have sold recently.

Adding blanket collections has been a lot of fun as it allows me to explore different options and create something for everyone. Periodically I’ll go back to previous collections and decide if I want to add any other blankets to that collection or not. I’m having a lot of fun with this, and can’t wait to decide what collection to add next!

Ongoing Crafty Goals Update

Yarn Skeins Used- 23 skeins/7,373 yards

Create More Worry Less- I decided each month to go through my stash and use up any leftover yarns for charity projects. I’m making pet beds to donate to Comfort for Critters. I made a total of 7 pet beds for charity this month.

That concludes my May crafty goals recap. Thank you so much for sticking around and seeing my progress. I hope this inspires you to set some crafty goals for yourself as you never know what you’re capable of doing.
