Today I’m sharing my newest crochet pattern, which is a Market Bag. This market bag is perfect to bring along to the next Farmer’s Market in your area. This bag works up quickly and be customized to fit your needs. I didn’t want to make the holes too big where fruit and veggies can fall out, but I still wanted a cute design. This is what I came up with, so enjoy!
For today’s tutorial, you will need worsted weight yarn (I’m using Caron Cotton Cakes in Hydrangea) and a size H-8 crochet hook (I’m using Clover Amour). The finished market tote bag measures 23” from the bottom of the bag to the top of the handle with a circumference of 14”. Again, the sizing will depend on how big you want to make your market bag.
You can purchase the ad-free version of this pattern here for only a few dollars.
Gather up your supplies and let’s begin!
MARKET BAG PATTERN
MATERIALS:
- H-8 Crochet Hook
- 1.5 skeins of Caron Cotton Cakes (I used the smaller Cotton Cakes for this pattern, so if you’re using the bigger cakes, you’ll only need 1)
- Scissors
- Tapestry Needle
FINISHED SIZE: 23” from bottom of bag to top of handle, 14” circumference
NOTE: Do not turn after each round. In order for the pattern to stay in balance, you will need to end with an odd number of stitches in between your 2dc stitches.
