In January, I shared my 2020 crafty goals with you. If you missed it, you can check it out here. I decided that I’m going to do a monthly recap of my crafty goals both to keep me on track, but also share my progress with you. Here is my March crafty goals recap.
Like I mentioned, I wanted to do a little recap of my monthly crafty goals to help keep me on track. I have so much going on, so I thought it would be easier to break down my goals by month so it wouldn’t seem so overwhelming. I also realized I set other crafty goals for myself that I didn’t initially include in my 2020 crafty goals, so I will include them in these monthly recaps instead.
MARCH CRAFTY GOALS RECAP
Design More Crochet Patterns
This month, I designed one crochet pattern. I was looking through some old blog posts of mine to get some inspiration. I wanted to create a blanket using one of the Crochet 101 tutorial stitches. In the end, I decided to make the half double crochet v-stitch. This is a similar stitch to the double crochet v-stitch, but using a half double crochet again.
Once I decided on a stitch, I then looked through my yarn stash to see what yarn I wanted to use. I recently organized my yarn as it was getting a little out of hand. If you want to organize your yarn stash, visit this blog post and learn how! After looking to see what I have, I went with Caron Big Cake in Blue Macaron. This yarn reminded me of the bright blue skies, which is how the Blue Skies Crochet Blanket was born.

Prepare for Craft Fair
I participate in a craft fair every spring and fall. Normally, I come up with cute ideas after my craft fair is over. This year, I’m trying to work on a few projects each month in order to stay on top of everything. That way I know I have stock built up instead of waiting until the last minute to make things.
This month, I’ve slowed down on making craft fair items due to the spring craft fair being cancelled. With everything being cancelled or shut down and people are asked to stay home and quarantine themselves, it’s most likely I won’t attend another craft fair until the fall. Because of this, I’ve stopped making anything for the craft fair and am focusing on building up my Etsy Shop instead.
Etsy Collections
Last month, I was inspired to make collections for my Etsy Shop. These collections will feature baby blankets and matching hats in the same color scheme. For the month of February, I started with my gray collection. You can shop the collection here: Modern Gray Collection
For the month of March, I decided to work through my Caron Cotton Cake stash and have a cotton baby blanket collection. This collection will feature baby blankets in different patterns as well as a matching newborn hat. I’m also including a blank baby card that I made with my Cricut Explore Air 2. I think this will be a great addition to my collections.
I’m excited to release this collection very soon!
Ongoing Crafty Goals Update
Yarn Skeins Used- 27 skeins/12,433 yards
Create More Worry Less- I decided each month to go through my stash and use up any leftover yarns for charity projects. I’m making pet beds to donate to Comfort for Critters. I made a total of 5 pet beds for charity this month.
That concludes my March crafty goals recap. Thank you so much for sticking around and seeing my progress. I hope this inspires you to set some crafty goals for yourself as you never know what you’re capable of doing.
