In January, I shared my 2020 crafty goals with you. If you missed it, you can check it out here. I decided that I’m going to do a monthly recap of my crafty goals both to keep me on track, but also share my progress with you. Here is my July crafty goals recap.
Like I mentioned, I wanted to do a little recap of my monthly crafty goals to help keep me on track. I have so much going on, so I thought it would be easier to break down my goals by month so it wouldn’t seem so overwhelming. I also realized I set other crafty goals for myself that I didn’t initially include in my 2020 crafty goals, so I will include them in these monthly recaps instead.

Design More Crochet Patterns
This month, I designed a 3D Puffy Shell Blanket. I’ve seen this pattern online for a while now, so I knew I had to find the perfect colors and make my own blanket. I ended up choosing beachy, summery colors as I was inspired by the yarn I received in the Annie’s Kit Club Subscription. If you haven’t purchased your crochet subscription (coupon codes included!), check out this post.
Anyway, I came up with the 3D Puffy Shell Blanket because one of my favorite crochet stitches is the shell stitch. This blanket uses a combination of the shell stitch, but with a little bit of a twist. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!

This next pattern I was really excited about because I love Harry Potter so much. I wanted to make a Harry Potter inspired blanket for a while, but I wasn’t sure what stitch I wanted to use. While looking online, I came across the v-stitch and knew it was perfect! I made four blankets, one to represent each of the four Hogwarts Houses. I can’t get enough of these blankets!

I’m having so much fun designing different patterns! I have a few ideas in mind, so be sure to keep an eye out on my YouTube channel for updates!
Make at Least 10 YouTube Videos
I’m still relatively new when it comes to making YouTube videos. However, I really want to make it more of a point to make more videos consistently and share my crochet tutorials and patterns through video format. That’s why I made it a goal to make at least 10 video this year.
Over quarantine, I was able to make a total of 11 YouTube videos, officially completing my goal! Since I’ve gone back to work, I’ve tried staying as consistent as possible with posting at least 1 video a week. In the month of July, I was able to post 5 YouTube videos.
I’m having a lot of fun with my YouTube channel! If you have any video ideas you would like me to make, please leave me a comment below. I’d love to hear from you!

For the month of July, I was inspired to make some Harry Potter inspired blankets. I knew I wanted to release the pattern on July 31, Harry Potter’s birthday. As I mentioned above, I ended up making the blankets using a v-stitch, which I thought turned out so pretty! I was inspired by the scarves worn in the movies. I represented all four Hogwarts Houses, Hufflepuff being my House. These turned out so well, I may have to include more Harry Potter inspired items to this collection.
I’m still slowly adding some blankets to my Cotton Blanket Collection as I have a lot of Caron Cotton Cake yarn to work through. I’m having a lot of fun with this as it allows me to explore different stitches and patterns and create something beautiful as a result!

Ongoing Crafty Goals Update
Yarn Skeins Used- 20 skeins/6,879 yards
Create More Worry Less- I decided each month to go through my stash and use up any leftover yarns for charity projects. I’m making pet beds to donate to Comfort for Critters. I made a total of 0 pet beds for charity this month. This is due to donations not being accepted right now as well as me focusing on making blankets for my Etsy Shop. However, I do have some yarn put on the side for pet beds once donations are being accepted once again.
That concludes my July crafty goals recap. Thank you so much for sticking around and seeing my progress. I hope this inspires you to set some crafty goals for yourself as you never know what you’re capable of doing.
