Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet pattern, the Jellybean Baby Blanket. This baby blanket is made using pastel colors, perfect for the upcoming spring season. However, you can change up the colors to fit your needs. Th Jellybean Baby Blanket is a one-row repeat pattern, making it beginner friendly.

For the Jellybean Baby Blanket, I used #4 worsted weight yarn in white, soft pink, light peach, buttercup, menthe, and orchid. I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn, however, you can use any yarn you’d like. I also used a size J-10 (6.0 mm) crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Jellybean Baby Blanket

Materials:

• 2 skeins of Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in White
• 1 skein each of Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Soft Pink, Light Peach, Buttercup, Menthe, and Orchid
• J-10 (6.0 mm) crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Size:

29 wide x 30 long

Notes:

• To change the width of this blanket, you will need to make a chain that’s a multiple of 4 plus 2. This means you will chain in a multiple of 4. Once satisfied with your width, you will add 2 chains to the very end.
• Rows 1 and 2 are the base rows. You will repeat Row 3 for your pattern.
• The chain 2 at the beginning of each row counts as a double crochet.

With White, CH 98

Row 1: Starting in the 6th CH from your hook, make 3 DC, *CH 1, skip 3 CH, 3 DC in next CH. Repeat from * until you reach the end of your row. Make 2 DC in final CH. CH 2 (counts as a DC) and turn.

Row 2: Working in the CH-1 space, DC around CH-1 space, TR in the middle CH from previous row, DC around CH-1 space, *CH 1, DC around CH-1 space, TR in the middle CH from previous row, DC around CH-1 space. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Work 2 DC in the space between the last 3 DC and the turning CH. CH 2 and turn.

Row 3: Working in the CH-1 space, *DC, TR in the middle stitch of 3 DC one row below, DC, CH 1. Repeat from * until the end of the row. Make 2 DC in the space between the last stitches and turning CH. CH 2 and turn.

Repeat Row 3 for the pattern. Your color changes will be as follows:

8 Rows White, 4 Rows Soft Pink, 6 Rows White, 4 Rows Light Peach, 6 Rows White, 4 Rows Buttercup, 6 Rows White, 4 Rows Menthe, 6 Rows White, 4 Rows Orchid, 6 Rows White, 4 Rows Soft Pink, 7 Rows White

You should have a total of 69 rows before the finishing row.

Finishing Row:

CH 2, *DC in CH-1 space, TR in the middle stitch of 3 DC one row below, DC, DC in next TR. Repeat until the end of the row. Make 2 DC in the space between the last DC and turning CH. Fasten off and weave in your ends.
