Hey everyone! Today I’m sharing my Iris Shawl Pattern as part of my Crochet 101 Series (check out my iris stitch tutorial here). I fell in love with the iris stitch and knew I wanted to make a pattern using this stitch (other than a blanket, of course). With the fall season in full swing, I thought I would make a shawl that you can wrap around your shoulders to keep you warm on those chilly fall days.
The yarn I chose was Red Heart Soft. This is a deep berry color that reminded me of fall, which I thought was perfect. I used 3 skeins of this yarn. Of course, you can choose any color you’d like to make it your own. You can even use a variegated color or change up your colors for a fun look. Check out my lesson here where I show you how to change colors. For the Iris Shawl, I used a J-10 Clover Amour Crochet Hook.

IRIS SHAWL PATTERN
MATERIALS:
- J-10 Hook
- (3) skeins of Red Heart Soft in the color Berry (or color of your choice)
- Scissors
- Tapestry Needle
FINISHED SIZE:
20 x 51
PATTERN:
Chain 67 (or a multiple of 4+1 (or 5+5+5) and 2 more chains at the end)
Row 1: Starting in the 5th chain from your hook, make (2dc, chain 1, 2dc) all in that same chain.
*Skip 3 chains and make (2dc, chain 1, 2dc) in next chain. Repeat from * to the last 2 chains. Skip 1 chain and make 1 dc in last chain. Chain 3 and turn.
Row 2: Skip the first 2 dcs and make *(2dc, chain 1, 2dc) into the chain 1 space from the previous row. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Make 1 dc into the turning chain. Chain 3 and turn.
Repeat row 2 over and over until you reach 51″ or desired length.
