Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my Harry Potter Thick Stripes Blanket! This is another addition to my Harry Potter Collection, which I shared in my previous post. You can check out more Harry Potter inspired blankets here. I’m super excited about sharing even more Harry Potter goodness with you!
Below, you will find the Harry Potter Thick Stripes blanket pattern. Don’t worry, all four Houses are represented! This blanket pattern is based on the scarves from the movies.
This crochet blanket pattern is beginner-friendly, but does require you to understand how to change colors. You can change up the sizing of this blanket by simply changing the number of chains.
For the Harry Potter Thick Stripes Blanket, I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Cranberry, Black, Sungold, Dark Denim, Graymist, and Forest Green. However, you can use any #4 worsted weight yarn you like to represent the colors of your Hogwarts House. I also used a size J-10 crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!
Harry Potter Thick Stripes Blanket
Materials:
- J-10 hook
- (2) skeins each of Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Cranberry (Main Color) and Sungold (Color B)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Size:
32×32
Notes:
- If you want to change up the sizing of this blanket, simply work more or less chains.
- You can change up the colors to match your Hogwarts House. Please see the beginning of this post to find out what colors I used.
- The chain 2 at the beginning of each row will count as your first herringbone half double crochet (HHDC).
- To complete the herringbone half double crochet (HHDC), yarn over and insert your hook in the stitch. Next, yarn over and pull through the stitch and the 1st loop on your hook. Yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook.
