Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet collection, the Harry Potter Collection! I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan (where are my Hufflepuffs at?!), so I wanted to make some Harry Potter inspired items. Today also happens to be Harry Potter’s birthday, so I thought it would be fitting to celebrate with some awesome items!
Below, you will find the Harry Potter inspired blanket pattern. Don’t worry, all four Houses are represented! This blanket pattern is based on the scarves from the movies.
This crochet blanket pattern is beginner-friendly, but does require you to understand how to change colors. You can change up the sizing of this blanket by simply changing the number of chains.
For the Harry Potter Collection, I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Cranberry, Black, Sungold, Dark Denim, Graymist, and Forest Green. However, you can use any #4 worsted weight yarn you like to represent the colors of your Hogwarts House. I also used a size J-10 crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Notes:
- If you want to change up the sizing of this blanket, you need to work any even number of chains.
- You can change up the colors to match your Hogwarts House. Please see the beginning of this post to find out what colors I used.
- The chain 3 at the beginning of each row will count as your first double crochet.

Such fun, Amanda! Thank you for sharing the wonderful blanket pattern. I suspect a lot of us crocheters belong in Hufflepuff (I’m one too!) because we keep working till the task is done. I don’t see members of the other houses having enough patience to work on a crochet project for an extended time, do you? 🙂

Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoy this pattern as much as I did! I was really excited about this one. I’m glad, also, to see another fellow Hufflepuff! No, I’m sure the other House members wouldn’t have nearly as much patience as we do to complete projects lol
I am not a Harry Potter follower but love to crochet. I see this blanket one in school or favorite team colors
That would be a great alternative! That’s why I love crochet, so versatile!
