Griddle Stitch Blanket

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet pattern, the Griddle Stitch Blanket. I wanted to make something for the winter season that you can decorate your home with, but also cuddle up underneath. Crochet blankets are a beautiful way to add a handmade touch to a home during the holidays. Blankets are a great gift to give to family and friends, too! The Griddle Stitch Blanket is a beginner-friendly pattern as it’s a two-row repeat pattern.

For the Griddle Stitch Blanket, I used a #6 super bulky weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick, however, you can use any yarn you’d like. I also used a size P/Q (15.0 mm) crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Notes:

  • You can change up the sizing of this blanket by making an odd number of chains
  • You will always DC into a SC and SC into a DC

Row 1: SC in the 2nd CH from hook and in each stitch across. CH 1 and turn.

Row 2: SC in first stitch, DC in next stitch. Alternate between SC and DC across the entire row. You will end with a DC in the last CH. CH 1 and turn.

Row 3: SC into the DC from previous row, DC in next SC stitch. Alternate SC and DC across the row, ending with a DC in the last stitch. CH 1 and turn.

Repeat Row 3 for the pattern until you use up all 8 skeins. Fasten off and weave in your ends.
