Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet pattern, the Falling Leaves Throw Blanket. My friend Kaylee challenged me to crochet my previous fall blanket, the Fall Throw Blanket. I was inspired to crochet another fall-themed blanket, so I was thinking about some of my favorite things about fall. One of my favorite things is the changing leaves, which became my inspiration for this blanket.

For the Falling Leaves Throw Blanket, I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn, which is a worsted weight #4 yarn. However, you can use any worsted weight yarn you’d like. I also used a size J-10 (6.0mm) crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Falling Leaves Throw Blanket

Materials:

• Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn (worsted weight yarn; 355 yards per skein)
  • 3 skeins of Cranberry
  • 2 skeins of Sungold
  • 2 skeins of Burnt Pumpkin
  • 1 skein of Brown
• J-10 (6.0mm) crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Size:

49×61

Notes:

• This blanket is worked in multiples of 3 (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, etc.) until your desired width.
• Each color is worked in four rows. Please see color sequence below.

With Cranberry, CH 162

Row 1: Working in the 3rd CH from hook, make a HDC and DC into the same stitch. *Skip 2 CHS and make a SC, HDC, and DC all into the next stitch. Repeat from * until you have 3 CHS left. Skip 2 CHS and make a SC into the last CH. CH 1 and turn.

Row 2: Make a HDC and DC into the very first stitch (the CH 1 will count as your SC). Next, *skip 2 stitches (HDC and DC from previous row) and make a SC, HDC, and DC into the next stitch (SC from previous row). Repeat from * until you have 3 stitches left. You will skip 2 stitches and make a SC into the turning CH. CH 1 and turn.

Repeat Row 2 over and over again for pattern. Follow the color sequence below.

COLOR SEQUENCE (4 rows of each color)

Cranberry

Sungold

Burnt Pumpkin

Cranberry

Sungold

Burnt Pumpkin

Cranberry

Brown

You will repeat this color sequence four times (meaning you will have a total of 4 brown striped sections). In order to keep your blanket in balance and have the same color sequence as the beginning, you will do the following:

4 rows each of Cranberry, Sungold, Burnt Pumpkin, Cranberry, Sungold, Burnt Pumpkin, Cranberry
