Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet pattern, the Fall Throw Blanket. I wanted to make something for the upcoming fall season that you can decorate your home with, but also cuddle up underneath. I was inspired by my friend Kaylee who encouraged me to make something fall related. This Fall Throw Blanket is a little out of my comfort zone as I normally don’t use these colors, but I’m so glad I did because I became completely obsessed with this blanket! The Fall Throw Blanket is a beginner-friendly pattern as it’s a one-row repeat pattern.
For the Fall Throw Blanket, I used #4 worsted weight yarn in fall colors. I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn, however, you can use any yarn you’d like. I also used a size J-10 (6.0 mm) crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!
Fall Throw Blanket
Materials:
- 2 skeins each of Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Light Sage, Desert Glaze, Cranberry, and Cream
- J-10 (6.0 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Size:
41 wide x 58 long
Notes:
- To change the width of this throw blanket, you will need to make a chain that’s a multiple of 10 plus 2. (Example: 10×3=30 plus 2=32)
- I changed colors after every two rows. You will have a total of 10 sets of the four-color repeat. At the end, you will make two rows of Light Sage, so your blanket starts and ends with the same color.
- After you make each set of colors, I highly recommend weaving in your ends. This will help you to not have so many ends to weave in at the very end.

Fall Throw Blanket Pattern:

Row 1: Skip first 2 CHS (counts as first DC), DC in each of the next 4 CH, *skip 2 CH, DC in each of the next 4 CH, CH 2, DC in each of the next 4 CH. Repeat from * until you have 6 CHS remaining. Skip 2 CH, DC in each of the next 3 CH, 2 DC in last CH, turn.
Row 2: CH 3 (counts as first DC), DC in same beginning stitch, DC in each of the next 3 stitches, *skip 2 stitches, DC in next 3 stitches, (DC, CH 2, DC) all into that CH-2 space, DC in next 3 stitches. Repeat from * until you have 6 stitches remaining. Skip 2 stitches, DC in next 3 stitches, 2 DC in top of turning CH, turn.
Repeat Row 2 for the pattern. Your color changes will be as follows:
Light Sage-2 rows
Desert Glaze-2 rows
Cranberry- 2 rows
Cream-2 rows
Once you reach 10 sets of these four colors together, you will make 2 rows of Light Sage so your blanket starts and ends with the same green color. Fasten off and weave in all your ends.
