Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my towel topper pattern with you. This is a simple, beginner-friendly crochet pattern that you can make quickly. You can make this in a variety of colors to match your towels and your kitchen décor. All you need is a little bit of worsted weight yarn, a hair tie, and a towel!
For todays’ tutorial, you will need a hair tie. I’m using these. You will also need a little bit of worsted weight yarn (I’m using Red Heart with Love) and a size H-8 crochet hook. I’m using my favorite Clover Amour hooks. Check out my review of them here. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!
Crochet Towel Topper Pattern
Materials:
Pattern:
Make a sl st around the hair tie and ch 3.
Make dcs around the entire hair tie. Join with sl st to beginning and ch 1. (Please note there is no set number of dcs here. You just want to make sure you have enough dcs to cover the hair tie.)
Next, sc in the next 9 stitches across. Ch 1 and turn.
You will make 16 sc rows altogether. After row 16, ch 1 and turn.
For row 17, you will make 1 sc in the next 4 stitches, ch 1 and skip the next st (this is the button loop), and 1 sc into the final 4 stitches. Ch 1 and turn.
Sc into each st across. Ch 1 and turn.
(Optional) For the border, you will make 1 sc into each st around, making 3 scs into the corners. Join with a sl st to the beginning. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Sew button on the towel topper between rows 1 and 2 of your sc rows. Fold over and insert your button through the button loop. Insert towel into your towel topper and you’re finished!
