Hey everyone! In today’s Crochet 101 lesson, I’m going to teach you how to make a single crochet stitch. The single crochet stitch is very easy to understand. In this lesson, I will go over how to make a single crochet stitch step-by-step and include pictures to help you along the way. Now, let’s get out those crochet hooks and yarn and begin!
To begin, you first need to start out with a slip knot and chain. If you don’t know how to make a slip knot or chain, please check out my previous lesson before continuing. You will start with 20 chains.
To begin making a single crochet (sc), count two chains from your hook. The loop on your hook never counts. Next, insert your hook into this second chain.
I hope you enjoyed my lesson on how to make a single crochet stitch. Stay tuned for next week where I will release my first beginner single crochet pattern.
