Hey everyone! It’s that time of year again when craft fair season is in full swing. As always, I thought I would give you my experience on what I learned at my latest craft fair. My goal is for you to walk away with something that will help you at your next upcoming craft fair. Stay tuned for some of my tips and lessons learned!
CRAFT FAIR EXPERIENCE
So as many of you know, I usually come to this craft fair every spring and fall. I find that this is one of the best craft fairs I have ever been to. (And let me tell you I’ve gone to a few stinkers!) I get a lot of sales and connect with other vendors/crafters around me to find out about other craft fairs coming up.
This particular craft fair takes place inside a public library. They have tables set-up along the walls as well as in different sections of the library. They use every inch of space they can to fit as many crafters as they can.
It’s well run, organized, and the staff is always friendly and willing to help out. I usually request the same spot every time. While the lighting isn’t great for photo taking, it’s a great spot as I have lots of space to display all of my items.
WHAT I MADE
This time around, I made a few different things, as I wanted to see if they were popular or not. I made a few Halloween decorations, which you can find here and here. I made sure to put these in front. Another thing I made are some Snowmen and Gingerbread towel toppers. This was a paid pattern, which you can purchase here. These were a big hit and people thought it was great that the towels can be interchanged.
CRAFT FAIR DISPLAY
As far as my set-up went, I felt like I tried to incorporate levels. Having different levels helps keep the eye moving. I bought some necklace holders at Michaels, which I used to display my cowls. I also used a few mannequin heads to display some hats. When it comes to my craft fair display, I feel like I’m always trying to tweak things and make them better.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, I felt like this craft fair was great. I was able to interact with other crafters and make some good sales. I still feel like I need to work on my craft fair display, but I feel like I’m finding what works and what doesn’t work. In time, I know that I will be able to find what I like sooner or later and be even happier with my display.
