Corner-to-Corner Blanket Pattern

Hey everyone! Today I’ll be sharing with you my corner-to-corner blanket pattern. I love this crochet technique as your projects work up fast. This free pattern will help you learn how to make a double crochet stitch while also completing a beginner project. To learn how to make the corner-to-corner stitch, visit this lesson. For this blanket, I’m using Caron Baby Cakes Yarn, but you can always substitute it with another worsted weight yarn.  I hope you enjoy this corner-to-corner blanket pattern!

 CORNER-TO-CORNER BLANKET PATTERN

MATERIALS:

FINISHED SIZE:

30×30

PATTERN:

Chain 6. Dc in 3rd chain from hook and in two remaining chains. This completes your first box.

Chain 6 and turn. Dc in 3rd chain from hook  and in 2 remaining chains. Sl st in chain 3 space from previous row. Chain 3 (counts as dc) and make 3 dc in that chain 3 space.

Keep doing this until your blanket measures 30 inches or until desired length.

In order to decrease, you will stop after making your final box in the row. Next, turn your work and make a sl st into the top of each dc and in the chain 3 space. Chain 3 and make 3 dcs into the chain 3 space. Continue making your blanket as you normally would until you reach the other end. You will make a decrease at this end as well. Continue decreasing each side until your blanket has one box left. Sl st to the final box and fasten off. Weave in your ends.

BORDER: Sc all the way around making 3 sc in each corner. Join with a sl st to beginning and fasten off.

To Finish: Leave at least 6 inches for your tail. Cut yarn. Yarn over your hook and pull through the last stitch of your row and tighten. To weave in all yarn ends, thread your yarn in your tapestry needle and go in between the stitches one way and back the other way. This will help keep your project from coming apart.

You now have your very own corner-to-corner blanket! This is a quick beginner-friendly project that any new mom would love. This blanket would make a great gift for a baby shower to welcome baby.
