Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my newest crochet pattern, the Christmas Keyhole Scarf. This crochet keyhole scarf is quick to make and can be easily customized to be shorter or longer. Don’t like the Christmas colors? You can use whatever color you like, even to match your winter coat.
For the Christmas Keyhole Scarf, I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn Metallic in Christmas. However, you can use whatever worsted weight yarn you’d like. I also used a size I-9 (5.5mm) crochet hook. I highly recommend using my favorite crochet hooks, Clover Amour. You will also need a tapestry needle and a pair of scissors. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!
Christmas Keyhole Scarf
Materials:
- (1) skein of Hobby Lobby Yarn Metallic in Christmas
- I-9 (5.5mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Size:
7.5″ W x 41″ L
Notes:
- This scarf is worked lengthwise, so you can easily change up the sizing by adding more or less chains.
- The chain 2 counts as a half double crochet.

Christmas Keyhole Scarf Pattern
CH 153
Row 1 Starting in the 2nd CH from hook, work a HDC in each CH across. CH 2 and turn.
Row 2 Skip first stitch (CH 2 counts as first HDC) and work a HDC in the BLO of each stitch across. CH 2 and turn.
Rows 3-9 Repeat Row 2
Row 10 Skip first stitch (CH 2 counts as first HDC) and work 1 HDC in the BLO of each of the next 22 stitches, CH 16, skip 16 stitches, work a HDC in the BLO of each remaining stitch across. CH 2 and turn.
Row 11 Skip first stitch and work 1 HDC in the BLO of each stitch up to the 16 CHS, HDC in each CH, HDC in the BLO of each stitch until the end of the row. CH 2 and turn.
Row 12-20 Repeat Row 2.
Finish Fasten off and weave in ends.
