Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my newest crochet pattern with you, the Candy Stripe Blanket. This is a beautiful baby blanket featuring a granny stripe design. I used pastel rainbow colors as I wanted something cheerful and bright. This is a beginner-friendly blanket that only requires a few stitches:
The Candy Stripe Blanket is made using Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in pink, light peach, buttercup, menthe, light blue, and orchid. However, you can use any #4 worsted weight yarn that you’d like. An alternative that I like is Red Heart with Love. You will also need a size I-9 crochet hook. I am using my favorite Clover Amour hooks. You will also need a tapestry needle and a pair of scissors. Gather your supplies and let’s begin.
CANDY STRIPE BLANKET
Materials:
- (1) skein each of Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in pink, light peach, buttercup, menthe, light blue, orchid
- I-9 crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Size:
37×40
Notes:
- You can change up this blanket to be any size that you’d like. Just note that if you make this blanket bigger, you will need more yarn.
- To change up the sizing of this blanket, you will need a multiple of 3. Once satisfied with your width, you will add 1 more chain to the end.
- You will change colors every third row. This means you will have 2 rows of each color.
- The chain 3 at the beginning of each row will count as a double crochet.
- All your ends will be on the same side of your blanket. Be sure to weave your ends in with the same color (ex: pink with pink, light peach with light peach, etc) to keep them hidden.
