Hi everyone and welcome to my first ever CAL (crochet along)! Who’s interested in a crochet along for a hooded blanket?! Read below to see part 1 of this CAL!
What will the project be?
The project will be a toddler sized hooded dog blanket. For this particular blanket, I am making a Dalmatian. However, feel free to change up the colors to make this hooded blanket in any color you want. You can make a brown dog blanket or change up the colors and use pink, red, white, and purple for a fun Valentine themed blanket.
This won’t be a mystery CAL as you will know exactly what the project will look like before you get started. That way you can all see if you would like to participate in making this hooded blanket. However, this CAL will be completely FREE on my blog!
Also, I will have the supplies/materials list available below so you can purchase/gather your supplies and begin.
How big will the hooded blanket be?
The finished size for this hooded blanket is roughly 37×37 (not including the hood). However, you can always make the blanket bigger if you would like, but please be aware you will have to use more yarn.
What is the time frame for this CAL?
This CAL will take place January 29-February 12. I will release a portion of this CAL every Monday for 3 weeks starting today. However, you will have until Friday, February 23rd to finish this CAL completely. This is a self-paced project, so definitely go at the speed you feel most comfortable. On Saturday, February 24th, I will have a Maker Gallery on my Facebook Page. Simply private message me on Facebook and submit a picture of your finished creation and I will upload it for everyone to see.
Without further ado, here are the supplies you will need to complete this hooded blanket:
SUPPLIES:
3 skeins of Red Heart with Love in White
1 skein of Red Heart with Love in Black
a little bit of red yarn (I used Red Heart with Love in Holly Berry)
tapestry needle
scissors
BLANKET PATTERN:
Chain 110
Row 1: 1 dc in 2nd chain from hook and in each stitch across, chain 2 and turn
Row 2: 1 dc in each stitch across, chain 2 and turn
Continue row 2 until your blanket measures 37”. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
