In January, I shared my 2020 crafty goals with you. If you missed it, you can check it out here. I decided that I’m going to do a monthly recap of my crafty goals both to keep me on track, but also share my progress with you. Here is my August crafty goals recap.
Like I mentioned, I wanted to do a little recap of my monthly crafty goals to help keep me on track. I have so much going on, so I thought it would be easier to break down my goals by month so it wouldn’t seem so overwhelming. I also realized I set other crafty goals for myself that I didn’t initially include in my 2020 crafty goals, so I will include them in these monthly recaps instead.
AUGUST CRAFTY GOALS RECAP
Design More Crochet Patterns
This month, I designed three blanket patterns. At the end of July, I posted my Harry Potter Collection. A week later, I released another beginner-friendly pattern using all four Hogwarts House colors. I wanted to have two different options when it came to Harry Potter blankets. I love how both versions turned out!

This next pattern I designed was the Aqua Breeze Baby Blanket. I wanted to use up my Caron Cotton Cake stash as I had a LOT of it. I had a lot of this beautiful aqua color, so I settled on making a baby blanket with that yarn. In the end, I named it Aqua Breeze (after the name of the yarn) and used one of my favorite and most popular stitches, the blanket stitch.

One More Crochet Pattern!
The final baby blanket pattern I made this month was the 3D Baby Blanket. The stitch I used is also known as the crystal waves stitch. I really love textured stitches, so I was excited to try this out and see how it turned out. I LOVE IT! For this blanket, I used a pretty light blue color and opted not to make a border as I thought the blanket was pretty enough without one.

I’m having so much fun designing different patterns! I have a few ideas in mind, so be sure to keep an eye out on my YouTube channel for updates!
Make at Least 10 YouTube Videos
Over quarantine, I was able to make a total of 11 YouTube videos, officially completing my goal! Since I’ve gone back to work, I’ve tried staying as consistent as possible with posting at least 1 video a week. In the month of August, I was able to post 4 YouTube videos.
I’m having a lot of fun with my YouTube channel! If you have any video ideas you would like me to make, please leave me a comment below. I’d love to hear from you!

Etsy Collections
For the month of August, I had a sudden desire to stop making collections for my Etsy Shop. I wasn’t making the sales I would have liked, so I lost my zest a little. It’s made me rethink my whole Etsy Shop and what items I want to include in it. This made me go back to the beginning and think “who really is my target audience?”
With that being said, I really want to focus on a common theme with my blankets. In a way, I’m doing a slight overhaul of my Etsy Shop, which means some listings have been taken down and those blankets will be donated instead. The blankets that will remain in my shop fit the overall theme I’m going for, which still leaves a good amount listed in my shop.
Right now, I am in the process of crocheting new baby blankets and different baby related items. Once I have everything I need, I will post this new collection all at once. I’m having a lot of fun with this as it allows me to explore different stitches and patterns and create something beautiful as a result!
Get Familiar with my Cricut Machine
I haven’t updated on this crafty goal in a while, so I thought I would provide an update.
I’ve become a little more familiar with my Cricut Machine. Since owning it, I’ve made various cards as well as the ever famous “mom” tile that was popular around Mother’s Day. I’ve also made a few more of those vinyl potholders. Those seem to be my go-to projects at the moment.
However, I haven’t used my machine in a while. I was really looking forward to selling my vinyl potholders at the fall craft fair that would have happened in September, but with everything cancelled, I have to hold off on this. Because of that, I’ve stopped using my machine for the time being. I feel unsure of what else to make because everything I want to make would be better suited at craft fairs than in my Etsy Shop. I hope to get back to this once craft fairs start popping up once again.
Ongoing Crafty Goals Update
Yarn Skeins Used- 26 skeins/9,432 yards
Create More Worry Less- I decided each month to go through my stash and use up any leftover yarns for charity projects. I’m making pet beds to donate to Comfort for Critters. I made a total of 3 pet beds for charity this month. I still have some yarn scraps to go through, but with focusing on my new Etsy Collection, this has taken a bit of a backseat for now. However, I have donated at least 8 blankets this month to Warm Up America.
That concludes my August crafty goals recap. Thank you so much for sticking around and seeing my progress. I hope this inspires you to set some crafty goals for yourself as you never know what you’re capable of doing.
